3x productivity

You cannot become 3x more productive by merely working hard. It would mean you need to have 3x more time than others, which is impossible unless you know how to time-travel :).

If time is what you can’t get more of, then how do you increase your productivity?

We all have our routines more than we’re consciously aware of, and the analytically and problem-solving capability of your brain is under-used once we get into those routines. It’s time to activate those capabilities.

Here is a systematic way to multiply your productivity. Some of us may be able to 10x our productivity with this process, but it’s more likely to give you 3x / 4x increase in your output.

The first step is to create time.

Say no to distractions, discussions, online time and projects that are unimportant, try to free-up 20% of your time.

Use that 20% time to think, plan and put checklists, processes, and automation in place to do 20% of your simple routine tasks in 1/5 or if possible in 1/10 of the current time required.

With this, you might be able to free up another 15% to 20% of your time.

Now repeat, use 20% time to look at more complex routine tasks to automate or apply processes around it to reduce the time spent doing each of those tasks.

For some routine tasks you may be able to reduce task-times by 1/5 or even by 1/10 of what was originally required, and most tasks by at least 1/2.

If you do this a few times, and if your math is correct, you’ll easily be 3x more productive.
