Are you someone who feels you’re too “casual” about your work? Does your manager constantly have to remind you to be more serious? If so, and you have no idea what to do, here are some suggestions:
Step 1 is to recognize you have a casualness problem at work.
Step 2 is asking yourself or your manager, every morning when you go in: “Is there a problem today I need to worry about?”
Try to get a precise answer—just one important thing you need to be worried about on that day.
Step 3 is putting in the hard work needed to solve that worry. Do this over and over and over, and after a while, you will find people saying, “You do damn serious work!”
