The Real Study of Your Impact

There is so much you can learn from studying the impact of the output you created from your work.

Not from user comments, likes, or shares.

But by interaction with people who use the output you create.

By talking to people about how they use your product . . . and understanding what they used to do before. This helps you learn immensely about the change your product has brought to their lives.

To deepen your study, don’t ask for feedback, but ask for advice.

Ask: What’s your advice for me (the maker of the product)?

Most people would rather give you advice than feedback.

If you’re busy reading comments and shares, you are disconnected from the real study of your output.

To do the real study, you need to go out there and interact.
