When you want to push new ideas and new beliefs out into the world, you cannot just write and talk about them, alone. People will think you’re crazy and will take your new ideas to be mad.
When you want to convince others of your new ideas and beliefs, you need to wrap them up with existing ideas and beliefs. Wrapping the old (the existing, the expected) up with the new makes it easier to get attention and build enthusiasm for your new ideas and beliefs.
