Many live with a false notion that bigger means better . . .
. . . Being a manager is bigger and better than being an individual contributor.
. . . Being your own boss is bigger and better than being an employee.
. . . A higher position in a bigger organization is better than quietly doing your best in an individual contributor role.
. . . Chasing bigger markets is better than focusing on smaller concentrated markets.
There used to be days when bigger meant or was equal to better. But, in today’s infinitely connected world, bigger is no longer better.
What is better is to serve the right people with the right solution they need; to serve a smaller set of people the best of what you can offer; to serve up the best solution to the toughest problem, for the smallest group of people.
Bigger is no longer better. The best “you” in service for the smallest group is the new better.
