It is easier to achieve goals on your needs list, compared with those on your wish list.
Wish lists are scratch-able, erasable, replaceable, disposable . . . whereas needs list goals are exactly the opposite.
When you pursue a vision, a mission, and a passion, seek ways to put it on your needs list.
One way to put a goal on your needs list is by aligning that goal with your inner character strengths.
Say that one of your character strengths is “creativity.” You should then plan to align your goal to feed that inner strength: creativity.
Our character strengths need to be kept nourished for our inner self to be happy. So, when you engage a character strength to work in conjunction with your goal, it naturally gets onto your needs list.
Aligning to your strengths has great potential to move a goal from your wish list to your needs list.
